Expat Mom in Australia

The adventures of a US mom living abroad in Brisbane, AU (QLD)

4WD, Daintree Rain Forest and Cape Tribulation September 24, 2009

Filed under: Cairns — coliely @ 11:20 am

This was a full-day tour at the Daintree Rain Forest, Cape Tribulation and some local private, beaches. We saw soldier crabs, ate locally-made ice cream and Ethan had a close encounter with a Cassowary. The day was spent in a VW van with another family from the resort. We started the day with a couple of lookouts of the ocean as well as a brief history of the highway between Cairns and Port Douglas. The scenery was gorgeous along the way. The boys did pretty well in the van for being in it most of the day. Andy took a nap a couple of times, but was wide awake for the 2hour+ drive home.
